Dillman's Art Retreats, Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin
Sept 15-20, 2019
Dillman's Bay Resort, in the beautiful Wisconsin Northwoods, is a classic workshop paradise. Lush woods, water views, beautiful grounds and flowers: almost too much to paint. The facilities are excellent, with lots of room, and conveniences such as refrigerators, library, and more. There are wonderful restaurants nearby for dinner.
I combine painting outdoors with learning to finish paintings indoors. We work with or around the weather, which is usually beautiful, but can be windy. This is four day workshop with painting time and instruction.
The best part is that many workshop participants stay locally at Dillman's, so the added benefit is sometimes painting a glorious sunset. I hope you can join me for this special workshop. Please call 715-588-3143 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The following Prallsville Mill workshop is full. If you are interested in future workshops in Stockton, NJ, Bucks County, or any future workshops, please email me at email@example.com Thank you.
Plein Air Workshop at the Art Colony Studio, Prallsville Mill, Stockton, NJ
October 7-10, 2019
I recently taught a workshop at THE ART COLONY STUDIO in Prallsville Mill, Stockton NJ. This is one of the most beautiful places in the USA. I am excited to be planning another one for another fall season.
The studio is a large, well lit facility. It is very comfortable and near good restaurants and beautiful locations. There is so much variety to paint, which makes the workshop fun and successful.
It is an honor for me to teach at the Art Colony Studio that was developed by one of my dearest friends, artist Ty Hodanish. I can only try to fill the gap he has left. Ty and I met as teacher and student, but over the years he inspired me! He was brilliant, kind, funny, talented and devoted to his craft and his students. He is greatly missed.

Chatham is one of the loveliest villages on Cape Cod. Flower gardens are lush and abundant. There are wonderful beaches, shorelines and boats, and marshes that turn incredible colors in the fall.
There is so much to paint, I cannot list everything. But the next best part of Chatham is not just the beauty! To entice you further, I cannot help but mention the delicious seafood and Lobsta!!
The RIVIERA and Cote d'Azur, Mid October, 2020
If you have visited or heard about the Franch Riviera, you know it is absolutely breathtaking. With it's picturesque harbors, famous bridges, Missions and lavender fields, gardens and colorful architecture, it is an artist's paradise.
Of course, we cannot overlook the french cuisine and outstanding wines. This workshop will be a feast for the eyes in every way. I hope to share it with you!
Mid October after the crowds on the breathtaking Riviera, Lois Griffel will teach an Art Workshop. Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo,Vence, St Paul de Vence, Villefranche sur Mer, and more! Brilliant, fantastic, luminous light will greet you on the Riviera just like you will find in Provence. Glorious Southern France. An art lover's paradise; Matisse, Renoir, Chagall, Bonnard, Picasso.
We will anchor the group in Cannes where you will find local markets, boutiques, lovely walks, the Cannes Film Festival venue, beaches. There is a wonderful Bonnard Museum in Cannes. Our hotel is in a lovely residential area with swimming pool and view of the water. Half a block away is the local bus stop and around the corner from that is the local train station.
We will visit Pierre Auguste Renior's house, studio, and gardens in Cagnes-sur-Mer named "Les Collettes." Renior spent the last 12 years of his life here and died in 1919. The house has 14 of his original paintings.
In Vence we visit the small Chapelle du Rosaire, built and decorated by Henri Matisse starting in 1950. St. Paul de Vence is a picturesque medieval town with the Maeght Foundation featuring works by Paul Signac, Modigliani, and Pierre Bonnard. The Matisse Museum is installed in a 17th century Italian villa.
The Picasso Museum is in Antibes which is an ancient port city.
Non-artists welcome with plenty to do; golf, tennis, spa, perfume making in Grasse, cooking schools, vineyards, and numerous charming villages to explore.

I am delighted to be returning to Tampa again. The workshop will be held at the Kerry Vosler Studio & Atelier. The studio is in a cigar factory that has incredible history and ambience. The studio is spacious and accommodating.
With its mix of old world architecture, ocean views, beautiful sunsets and parks, there is almost too paint. Plus the city has great food and other amenities.
Tampa proved to be a perfect place for a workshop. It will be a lot of fun as well.
